Before or after a long day of trois Vallees skiing, let our friendly staff attend to you in our large spacious ski room where you will be helped with your boots and skis. Our ski room service and ski shop is operated by Sport 2000 Gilbert Sport. Gilbert Sport is a large ski and snowboard hire company with the best choice of equipment and rentals for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. Gilbert Sport always has the latest skis and snowboards for the current season. Their main shop is a 5 minute walk from Portetta
Situated right on the ski slopes of Courchevel 1650, Portetta is a 3 Valleys hotel at the end of the Belvedere piste. During your holiday, you can ski or snowboard right down to our terrace, remove your skis and within two steps be sitting down and enjoying one of our Italian style hot chocolates in the sun. With a ski school next door you can even watch your kids learn to ski. The ski slopes in Courchevel 1650 are wide, covered in snow and not as busy as 1850. Courchevel 1650 is well known for its off piste and cross country skiing. With 66km of cross country ski runs throughout the forest there is plenty of fun to be had for those of you who like to push yourselves that little bit further.
Portetta is located in between the top two ski schools in Courchevel, ESF and New Generation. We work closely with both ski schools and would always be happy to recommend instructors or guides for your week ahead.
There are plenty of different options when bookings ski lessons or guides:
After more than 40 years of service, the Ariondaz gondola in Courchevel Moriond will be rebuilt.
Earlier this year, work began on dismantling the old Ariondaz and it is believed it will take seven months to rebuild...just in time for the 2017/18 season!
The new gondola will not only be quicker but will have twice the capacity of its predecessor, meaning less queues and quicker access to the slopes for you and your team!
Also new for next season will be a Toboggan run. Starting from Bel Air, the 3km long run will be 50% longer than the one in Courchevel (1850), with a 450m vertical drop, average gradient of 15% and four underground sections! How daring are you feeling…?
Being in the heart of Courchevel 1650 means you are situated on the tip of Parc National de la Vanoise which is the stunning national park. It is fantastic for off piste skiing and if you are lucky you may see a few chamois making their way across the mountain or furry Marmotte's poking their heads out to greet you.
